It shouldn’t come as a surprise when you understand that there are two separate ‘high-profile’ individuals bearing “Abba Kyari” … the confusion which has led many Nigerians to add 13 years to the real age of the Abba Kyari who was buried on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Not much had been known concerning the real age of the Kyari who died of the coronavirus and this had resulted in different numbers being attached as his age, with 80, 81 and 82 topping the list
Well, the presidency has offered some explanation … saying that one Kyari, a Nigerian military officer, died two years ago. He died at 80 after being born on November 17, 1938.
The other Kyari, whom the majority of the people know, the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who died of COVID-19 on April 17, 2020, was born on September 23, 1952. He died at 67.
CLARIFICATION: Mallam Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to President Buhari was 67, he was born on Sept. 23rd, 1952, the other Abba Kyari a Nigerian military officer, who some mixed/mistaken for CoS, died at the age of 80, he was born on Nov. 17, 1938 and died on Nov. 25, 2018.
Meanwhile, Kyari – the late chief of Staff to Buhari – graduated from Cambridge and Warwick universities in the United Kingdom after being educated in St. Paul’s College in Kaduna, according to President Buhari
