COVID-19 lockdown: Prostitutes in Uyo decry low patronage, slash rates to attract customers


Commercial sex workers in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state have decried low patronage.

Our reporter reporting from Akwa Ibom disclosed that the Prostitutes, due to low patronage, resulting from the covid-19 pandemic, have slashed the price of their service in order to attract customers, which is not still not working.

Some of the Prostitutes who spoke to our man stated that they usual offer short or long service, short service which range from N500 to N1000 is now N200 to N500, of which she said “yet they are not getting enough costumers as usual.”

The lady who pleaded anonymity said that before, if there is no customers in the afternoon, she see 5 customers, but when the business is booming, she usually see 10 men in the afternoon.

She said, since the outbreak of the virus in Akwa Ibom state, costumers have stopped coming, she said she hardly sees one costumer a day now.

She prays that the virus quickly leaves Nigeria so that they can resume their normal business.
