#EndSARS: Nigeria can be united, says Obey

Veteran juju musician , Ebenezer Obey – Fabiyi , fondly called ‘ Chief Commander ’ by his fans, has expressed optimism that Nigeria can be truly united in words and deeds .

He noted that the #EndSARS protests by the country ’s youths were good as it showed that Nigerians could truly be united for good .

Obey made this known at the fifth anniversary of a real estate company , Gtext Homes . He said , “ The protests were a big surprise and no one was expecting them.

Everyone was pushed to the wall. #EndSARS is a good movement because that is the only way we can correct many ills and things that are not right in the country. Our leaders should see this and know that something is wrong beyond our imagination . I pray God would help us. ”

The iconic singer also advised artistes to sing meaningful songs that would stand the test of time and make tangible investments , especially in real estate . He added, “ People should invest in landed properties. If you buy a land today, by next year, it would have appreciated in value and it would continue to grow as the years go by. Any house one builds or buys is an investment .

A popular Yoruba adage says, ‘A young man does not invest the first money he makes but squanders it ’ and that is not a wise thing to do . Lands and houses are one of the most secured investments . I built my first house when I was 27 years old. My father died when I was 38 and I had already built a lot of houses by then. ”

“ I like this company because they are securing the future. Immediately I stepped in here, I saw the pursuit of excellence, and that shows that the organisation will continue to grow . To have 10 estates within five years is no small achievement .”

Also speaking at the event , the Managing Director of the company , Stephen Akintayo, stated that it was important to celebrate people when they were alive .”
