A member of the House of Representatives representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Eta Mbora has presented two grass cutting machine to members of his constituents as an empowerment.
The presentation took place on Saturday, March 6, at his residence in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The lawmaker has been criticised for giving out such an empowerment and for poor performance. A constituent from Odukpani LGA who spoke with GRASSROOT REPORTERS on condition of anonymity said:
“It’s a big shame that such empowerment could be given by the lawmaker. These people get billions for constituency projects but nothing to show for it.”
Hon. Edim was elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2003 to serve as a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly.
After a four-year term at the House, he was elected Chairman of the Calabar Municipal Council. He held the position from 2007 to 2013.
In 2015, he was elected into the Federal House of Representatives to represent Calabar Munincipal/Odukpani Constituency and was re-elected in 2019.
