NUC Listed Nigerian Universities That Offer Fake Degree Programmes.


The National Universities Commission (NUC) has listed 8 Nigerian Universities that offer fake degree programmes and certificates.

The commission’s function include granting approval for opening of universities in Nigeria, granting approval for programmes to be run in the Universities as well to ensure that all academic programmes are run to stipulated standards. This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.

The eight universities are:

1) National Universities of Nigeria, Keffi , Nassarawa State.

2) North Central University, Otukpo, Benue state.

3) Christ Alive Christian Seminary and University.

4) Richmond Open University, Arochukwu, Abia state.

5) West Coast University, Umuahia.

6) Saint Clements University, Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti state.

7) Volta University College, Aba, Abia state.

8) Illegal Satellite Campuses of Ambrose Alli University.

The commission however warned that anyone who patronises the listed universities is at their own risk as the universities have not obtained relevant approvals for such programmes.

They also disclosed that about 58 universities in Nigeria are fake and do not have any licence to operate
