Police arrest SUG President, others for cultism

The Police have arrested the President of university students Union Authorities (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State,  Adegboye  Olatunji in reference to membership of the dreaded Again Axe Confraternity.

Additionally arrested together with the SUG President is one Olarewaju Taiwo for alleged membership of Black Axe.

The 2 have been arrested on Sunday whereas kitted of their cult regalia in a bush at Gbogidi space of Ilaro as they have been allegedly attempting to provoke new members into the Black Axe Confraternity.

The Police Public Relations Officer within the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a press release on Monday, stated the Divisional Police Officer,  Ilaro Divisional Police Headquarters, Olayemi Jacob, a Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP), led a staff of Policemen to the bush and arrested the 2 with the assistance of some members of  the general public.

Abimbola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), stated the Police in Ilaro obtained a tip off that the suspects have been sighted within the bush and have been about to provoke new members when the Police stormed the situation.

Whereas the duo have been arrested, others escaped by way of the bush.

In line with the Police picture maker, the suspects have been taken in custody on the Ilaro Divisional headquarters the place they’re being at the moment grilled.

The Commissioner of Police,  Kenneth Ebrimson, has given a directive for the switch of the suspects to the Anti – cultists unit of the State Felony Investigation and Intelligence Division(SCIID) for additional investigation.
