Police Arrests Two Teachers Over Alleged Rape And Abuse Of Four Female Students In Niger State


The police in Niger State has arrested two teachers over alleged rape and abuse of four female students.

Hassan Bilyaminu, 25, and Abdullahi Bilyaminu, 23, teachers of Tsangayan Mallam Bilya Islamiya school, were paraded on Friday.

State Police spokesman ASP Wasiu Abiodun said the students, aged between 6 and 11 years, were usually called from the study ground while in school to suspects’ room for the sexual act.

According to ASP Abiodun, the suspects confessed to have fingered the victims, adding that they would soon be arraigned in court for prosecution.

He said: “on August 2, at about 21:00 hours, based on information received, police operatives attached to Maitumbi division, arrested the suspects at Tsangayan Mallam Bilya Islamiya school, Tudun Natsira, Maitumbi.

“The suspects allegedly raped and sexually molested four of the female Islamiya students, ages between 6 years and 11 years.

“The girls were called from the study ground to the suspects’ room for sexual act.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have used their fingers on the victims’ private parts, and they will soon be arraigned in court for prosecution.”
